An Iniative of theANNEX. Student Ministries. 2009.
There are more important things than just things!
Resist the flu is an initiative to combat affluenza. The the modern-day "disease" of excessive shopping, overwork, debt and the pursuit of money.
At RTF we believe that living with purpose is not determined on the clothes you wear, the cell phone you own, or the car you drive. Instead we choose to live our lives in resistance to more stuff.
Not sure if you caught the flu?? check out the symptoms page and while you're at it; find out where you rank on the global rich list.

One of the best ways to heal yourself from a life of excessive consumption; is to begin thinking and acting beyond your own wants. Thus, we have partnered with Living Waters Internationalto provide clean water for developing nations. All money raised through RTF is currently being redistributed to build wells in countries of need. Check out how much we have raised so far!

We are a multi generational group of passionate Jesus followers, who are seriously consumed with being the change this world needs. We are rejecting apathy and following the words of a ridiculous homeless man named Jesus, who is fully man and fully God. He was passionately compassionate to the needy and as equally challenging to the comfortable. We believe there is a great divide between the needy, and the comfortable. Do you see it? Can you feel it? We feel it in our own lives. A divide that says its okay to purchase clothes woven by children, to drown the cries of the oppressed with our iPods, and to water our lawns without thinking of the thirsty. It’s time we resisted the flu...
We are a group of people from Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada that is committed to bringing awareness to our culture that there are more important things than just things.
We believe that God has created each and everyone of us with a purpose that is beyond material possessions. A desire to live in community. In wholeness with each other. At the very core of who we are, we are commissioned to LOVE. To love one another without letting our possessions and money get between us.
RTF is a collaborated effort of ordinary people just like you; musicians, working dads, soccer moms, passionate teens, artists, young adults, newly marrieds, singles, & even a pastor. We are a bunch of people who would rather have fullness of life than full bank accounts. Who don't want to be defined by what we wear, or what we drive. We want to be ambassadors of a new way, a simple way of resisting the urge to splurge and owning the call to contentment.
